Discussion about any new idea

Scoreboard

Postby SSDave on Thu Jul 26, 2007 3:30 am

Well it might not be a totally new idea.. but it is an idea. In recent years I have played several RPG games where the main idea behind the game is to train to become stronger to explore more of the game. Well, once you get to see almost everything then your just competing against each other for high scores.

Now I know you do have a few scoreboards but here is my suggestion. It would be nice to goto one area (possibly near login) to see the scores of the top 100 in edge/blunt/point or block/dodge and others like ot.st. Also it would be very convenient to see them outside of the game such as the main webpage.

I personally would see the person above me (If I was even on the list) as my next goal. Doing this might bring old players or new players back to the game to compete for the top 10.

Let me know what you think.

Or we could make it so areas are harder to get to.
There's only a couple of areas where you need to be able to kill the things at the entrance in order to get to the more uber ones.
More guards could be put in to keep lowbies out of certain areas where they shouldn't be. Not that we have newbies.
Guards that chase you if you try to get in and aren't capable/ allowed!
There are those who see things for what they are, and ask "What if?"
I see things for what they are yet to become, and ask "Why not?"

We don't particularly like guards (or any other mob) chasing you out of their area and into the rest of the mud.

More high score tables are quite possible - presumably we could work out one which displayed the top 10 + the 2 above + you + the 2 below you for whichever skill you requested.
Be nice, there is only one of me.

Sounds Great. Can't wait to see it if you do choose to continue. Thanks.

Random spawn might cut down on the homogeneity experienced. If faction were put in play, then a whole realm of autoaggro guard wanderers could be put in play to keep that need to form score points down in lieu of staying alive.
