Secondary specialization would require spheres of resistance to be put in play, but once this was done each sphere could act as the means to distinguish each branch.
Triplets of each subclass could be created by creating a defense, attack, and group sections. Defense would have abjuration specials that would react against their sphere and maybe protections for self only. Attack would have area affect commands of the chosen sphere. Group would have party bonuses and weaker versions of abjuration branch defenses and possibly some regen over time commands.
In the end there would be
Template Mages
Subtemplate Mage_each sphere (earth, fire, wind, water, --maybe heart, not sure how that would work though-- light, dark, chaos[old mage godtype])
Specialization z_defense, z_attack, z_group
People could have distinctive classes and types dependent on how they see their RP personality.
A means of changing back and forth should be implemented (in the million exp per lvl and 100k coin per lvl region...perhaps even charisma dependent).
